SINCLAIR ANNOUNCES CORPORATE PROMOTIONS

Baltimore (December 20, 2013) – Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: SBGI) announced the corporate promotions of Lucy Rutishauser, David Bochenek, Del Parks, and Don Thompson. The announcement was made by David Smith, CEO and President of Sinclair.

Ms. Rutishauser was promoted to Senior Vice President of Corporate Finance & Treasurer of Sinclair from Vice President of Corporate Finance & Treasurer. Ms. Rutishauser will continue to be responsible for the Company’s capital raising activities, investor relations, treasury operations, financial planning and budgeting, credit and collections, and press communications.

Mr. Bochenek was promoted to Senior Vice President & Chief Accounting Officer of Sinclair from Vice President & Chief Accounting Officer. Mr. Bochenek will continue to be responsible for the Company’s accounting, tax, insurance, contract administration, television station business offices, and station transition integration processes.

Mr. Parks was promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations & Engineering for Sinclair Television Group from Vice President of Operations & Engineering. Mr. Parks will continue to have oversight of the planning, organizing and implementation of operational and engineering policies and strategies as they relate to television operations, plus oversight of traffic, information technology, and real property.

Mr. Thompson was promoted to Senior Vice President of Human Resources from Vice President of Human Resources. Mr. Thompson will continue to have oversight of the Company’s human resources, hiring practices, benefits programs, union contracts and employee relations.

In making the announcement, David Smith commented, “We are pleased to promote these four individuals who have contributed significantly to the Company and their respective areas for many years. Lucy, Dave, Del and Don have played integral roles in the Company’s recent consolidation efforts and ensured smooth transitions of the acquired stations. These are talented individuals in whom we have the utmost confidence and look forward to their continued leadership as we launch new initiatives.”

Lucy A. Rutishauser has served as Vice President of Corporate Finance & Treasurer since November 2002. From March 2001 until November 2002, she served as Treasurer and, from 1998 until March 2001, she served as Assistant Treasurer. From 1996 to 1997, Ms. Rutishauser was the Assistant Treasurer for Treasure Chest Advertising Company. Prior to that and from 1992 to 1996, Ms. Rutishauser served as Assistant Treasurer and Director of Treasury for Integrated Health Services, Inc. From 1988 to 1992, Ms. Rutishauser held various treasury positions with Laura Ashley, Inc. and the Black and Decker Corporation. Ms. Rutishauser graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Finance and received her Master of Business Administration, with honors, from the University of Baltimore. Ms. Rutishauser is a member of the National Institute of Investor Relations and the Association of Finance Professionals.

David R. Bochenek has served as Vice President & Chief Accounting Officer since May 2005. Prior to that, he served as Chief Accounting Officer from November 2002 to April 2005. Mr. Bochenek joined Sinclair in March 2000 as the Corporate Controller. Prior to joining Sinclair, Mr. Bochenek was Vice President, Corporate Controller for Prime Retail, Inc. from 1993 until 2000. From 1990 to 1993, Mr. Bochenek served as Assistant Vice President for MNC Financial, Inc. and prior to that held various positions in the audit department of Ernst & Young, LLP. Mr. Bochenek received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Master of Science in Finance from Loyola University, Maryland.

Delbert R. Parks, III has served as Vice President of Engineering and Operations of Sinclair Television Group, Inc. since 1996. From 1985 to 1996, he was Director of Operations and Engineering for WBFFTV in Baltimore, Maryland and Sinclair. He has held various operations and engineering positions with us for the last 40 years. Mr. Parks is a member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers and the Society of Broadcast Engineers. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Baltimore Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Parks is also a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel who has held various commands during his 26-year reserve career.

Donald H. Thompson has served as Vice President of Human Resources since November 1999 and prior to that as Director of Human Resources from September 1996. Prior to joining us, Mr. Thompson was the Human Resources Manager for NASA at the Goddard Space Flight Center near Washington, D.C. Mr. Thompson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Certificate in Personnel and Industrial Relations from University of Maryland, and a Master of Science in Business / Human Resource & Behavioral Management and a Master of Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University. Mr. Thompson is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.
