SINCLAIR ANNOUNCES CORPORATE PROMOTIONS

Baltimore (December 20, 2013) – Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: SBGI) announced the corporate promotions of Lucy Rutishauser, David Bochenek, Del Parks, and Don Thompson. The announcement was made by David Smith, CEO and President of Sinclair.

Ms. Rutishauser was promoted to Senior Vice President of Corporate Finance & Treasurer of Sinclair from Vice President of Corporate Finance & Treasurer. Ms. Rutishauser will continue to be responsible for the Company’s capital raising activities, investor relations, treasury operations, financial planning and budgeting, credit and collections, and press communications.

Mr. Bochenek was promoted to Senior Vice President & Chief Accounting Officer of Sinclair from Vice President & Chief Accounting Officer. Mr. Bochenek will continue to be responsible for the Company’s accounting, tax, insurance, contract administration, television station business offices, and station transition integration processes.

Mr. Parks was promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations & Engineering for Sinclair Television Group from Vice President of Operations & Engineering. Mr. Parks will continue to have oversight of the planning, organizing and implementation of operational and engineering policies and strategies as they relate to television operations, plus oversight of traffic, information technology, and real property.

Mr. Thompson was promoted to Senior Vice President of Human Resources from Vice President of Human Resources. Mr. Thompson will continue to have oversight of the Company’s human resources, hiring practices, benefits programs, union contracts and employee relations.

Lucy A. Rutishauser has served as Vice President of Corporate Finance & Treasurer since November 2002. From March 2001 until November 2002, she served as Treasurer and, from 1998 until March 2001, she served as Assistant Treasurer. From 1996 to 1997, Ms. Rutishauser was the Assistant Treasurer for Treasure Chest Advertising Company. Prior to that and from 1992 to 1996, Ms. Rutishauser served as Assistant Treasurer and Director of Treasury for Integrated Health Services, Inc. From 1988 to 1992, Ms. Rutishauser held various treasury positions with Laura Ashley, Inc. and the Black and Decker Corporation. Ms. Rutishauser graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Finance and received her Master of Business Administration, with honors, from the University of Baltimore. Ms. Rutishauser is a member of the National Institute of Investor Relations and the Association of Finance Professionals.

David R. Bochenek has served as Vice President & Chief Accounting Officer since May 2005. Prior to that, he served as Chief Accounting Officer from November 2002 to April 2005. Mr. Bochenek joined Sinclair in March 2000 as the Corporate Controller. Prior to joining Sinclair, Mr. Bochenek was Vice President, Corporate Controller for Prime Retail, Inc. from 1993 until 2000. From 1990 to 1993, Mr. Bochenek served as Assistant Vice President for MNC Financial, Inc. and prior to that held various positions in the audit department of Ernst & Young, LLP. Mr. Bochenek received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Master of Science in Finance from Loyola University, Maryland.

Delbert R. Parks, III has served as Vice President of Engineering and Operations of Sinclair Television Group, Inc. since 1996. From 1985 to 1996, he was Director of Operations and Engineering for WBFFTV in Baltimore, Maryland and Sinclair. He has held various operations and engineering positions with us for the last 40 years. Mr. Parks is a member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers and the Society of Broadcast Engineers. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Baltimore Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Parks is also a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel who has held various commands during his 26-year reserve career.

Donald H. Thompson has served as Vice President of Human Resources since November 1999 and prior to that as Director of Human Resources from September 1996. Prior to joining us, Mr. Thompson was the Human Resources Manager for NASA at the Goddard Space Flight Center near Washington, D.C. Mr. Thompson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Certificate in Personnel and Industrial Relations from University of Maryland, and a Master of Science in Business / Human Resource & Behavioral Management and a Master of Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University. Mr. Thompson is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.

(Nasdaq: SBGI) announced that Glen Callanan has been named General Manager of KGAN-TV (CBS 2) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and will also oversee sales and other non-programming related services of KFXATV (FOX) in Cedar Rapids pursuant to an Outsourcing Agreement. The announcement was made by Steve Marks, Chief Operating Officer of Sinclair’s television group.

In making the announcement, Mr. Marks said, “We are excited to have Glen join the team in Cedar Rapids. We believe that his previous sales management, digital interactive sales experience and over 30 years of broadcast experience will be a valuable contribution to these stations.”

Mr. Callanan has over 30 years of sales and management experience. For the last 5 years, Mr. Callanan has been the Director of Interactive Sales/Retail Sales at WGN-TV in Chicago, IL and prior to that and from 2003 he was the General Sales Manager for KPLR-TV (CW) in St. Louis, MO. From 1999 to 2003, he was the National Sales Manager at WGN-TV . Prior to that, he held various other positions including National Sales Manager for WOFL-TV (FOX) in Orlando, FL, Manager and Account Executive at TeleRep and Account Executive at various other stations in St. Louis. Mr. Callanan graduated with a Bachelor of Journalism in Broadcasting and Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri.

From 2001 to 2007, she served in various sales capacities at the same stations, including General Sales Manager, Local Sales Manager, National Sales Manager and Account Executive. Prior to that and from 1999, Ms. Aldridge was an Account Executive for WACH in Columbia, SC. Ms. Aldridge has a Bachelor or Arts degree in speech and communications from Clemson University.

(Nasdaq: SBGI) announced that Rebecca Hanson has been named Senior Vice President, Strategy and Policy and will be responsible for the development and oversight of a new Washington office dedicated to a broad range of policy and business matters. Ms. Hanson will report to David Smith and will join Sinclair on January 2, 2014. The announcement was made by President and CEO, David Smith.

Ms. Hanson comes to Sinclair from the Media Bureau of the Federal Communications Commission, where she was Senior Advisor, Broadcast Spectrum, and served on the Incentive Auction Task Force as the point person for broadcaster participation and issues affecting nonparticipating broadcasters. Prior to joining the FCC from 2007 to 2009, she was the Vice President, Strategic Initiatives at Sprint Nextel, where she was responsible for the launch and long-term growth strategy for the WiMAX network and a member of the deal team leading the financing and merger with Clearwire for a national spectrum footprint. From 2006 to 2007 she was a consultant focusing on business planning and deal execution for various digital media companies. Prior to that and from 2000, she held the positions of Senior Vice President, Business Development, and Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at XM Satellite Radio, Inc., where she was the lead negotiator for key strategic alliances and partnerships in the areas of programming, marketing, distribution, acquisitions/joint ventures and product development. She began her career as an attorney with Brownstein and Zeidman from 1993 to 1996 and then Shaw Pittman (now Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman) from 1996 to 2000, where she specialized in the areas of technology, commercial finance, and venture capital.

SINCLAIR BROADCAST GROUP CLOSES ON ACQUISITION OF BARRINGTON STATIONS

BALTIMORE (November 25, 2013) — Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: SBGI) (the “Company” or “Sinclair”) announced today that it closed on its previously announced acquisition of 18 television stations owned by Barrington Broadcasting Group, LLC (“Barrington”) for $370.0 million and entered into agreements to operate or provide sales services to another six stations. The 24 stations are located in 15 markets and reach 3.4% of the U.S. TV households. The acquisition was funded through cash on hand.

As previously discussed, due to FCC ownership conflict rules, Sinclair sold its station in Syracuse, NY, WSYT (FOX), and assigned its local marketing agreement (“LMA”) and purchase option on WNYS (MNT) in Syracuse, NY to Bristlecone Broadcasting. The Company also sold its station in Peoria, IL, WYZZ (FOX) to Cunningham Broadcasting Corporation (“CBC”). In addition, the license assets of three stations were purchased by CBC (WBSF in Flint, MI and WGTU/WGTQ in Traverse City/Cadillac, MI) and the license assets of two stations were purchase by Howard Stirk Holdings (WEYI in Flint, MI and WWMB in Myrtle Beach, SC) to which Sinclair will provide services pursuant to shared services and joint sales agreements. Following its acquisition by Sinclair, WSTM (NBC) in Syracuse, NY, will continue to provide services to WTVH (CBS), which is owned by Granite Broadcasting, and receive services on WHOI in Peoria, IL from Granite Broadcasting. Sinclair has, however, notified Granite Broadcasting that it does not intend to renew these agreements in these two markets when they expire in March of 2017.

BALTIMORE (November 22, 2013) — Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: SBGI) (the “Company” or “Sinclair”) announced that it closed on the acquisition of the non-license assets of KRNV (NBC 7) in Reno, Nevada from Intermountain West for $26.0 million and entered into an agreement to operate or provide sales services to the station. The purchase price represents a 5.2x multiple of the average 2012-2013 cash flow including synergies. We expect to drop our San Francisco news share on our FOX station and replace it with a local Reno newscast.

From 1989 to 1991, Mr. Gealy was Vice President and General manager of WHOI (ABC) in Peoria, Illinois. In making the announcement, Mr. Marks said, “We are very pleased to promote Joe and make official the lead role he has been handling for us for years. Our first sales boot camps were created and taught by Joe. They eventually evolved into Sinclair University, which is our in-house sales training program, the curriculum of which Joe created and personally teaches. He has been an integral part in growing our top line revenues through the training of our account executives and local sales managers. We have seen solid results from the almost 200 sellers who have participated in Sinclair University and look forward to Joe expanding upon those success stories.”

Mr. Koff has almost 40 years of broadcast and management experience. He has been with Sinclair since 2003 in multiple roles. Most recently and since 2011, Mr. Koff has served as Chief Operating Officer of Sinclair’s wrestling franchise, Ring of Honor. Since 2010, Mr. Koff has headed Sinclair University, the Company’s in-house sales training program that he created. Prior to that and from 2006, he was a Group Manager overseeing multiple Sinclair television markets. From 2003 through 2006, Mr. Koff headed Sinclair’s in-house direct mail initiative, which at its peak, produced over 6 million pieces a month. From 1998 to 2003, Mr. Koff served in various management roles at Muzak and its largest franchise owner, Audio Communications, where he was President and CEO. During his television broadcasting career, Mr. Koff has served as General Manager, General Sales Manager, National Sales Manager, Local Sales Manager and account executive for various stations, including some which are now owned by Sinclair. Mr. Koff graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from the University of Miami, Florida and has a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a specialty in Leadership from the University of Baltimore.
