SINCLAIR NAMES DOUG GEALY GROUP MANAGER
Baltimore, MD (November 21, 2013) – Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: SBGI) announced that Doug Gealy has been named Group Manager and will be responsible for the oversight of the Washington D.C., Raleigh NC and Richmond VA markets. The announcement was made by Steve Marks, Chief Operating Officer of Sinclair’s television group.
In making the announcement, Mr. Marks said, “Doug is a very seasoned broadcaster bringing 31 years of broadcast television experience, including 24 years of broadcast executive experience to Sinclair. In his time as President and co-founder of ACME Communications, Inc., Doug managed large news operations, launched a nationally syndicated morning news program, and has a history of besting the competition and improving ratings, market share and cash flows. We look forward to bringing his talent and leadership to these markets.”

Mr. Gealy served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer and was a founder of ACME Communications, Inc. from January 1997 to April 2013. Prior to that and from 1996, he was Executive Vice President of Benedek Broadcasting. From 1991 to 1996, he served as President and General Manager of WCMH (NBC) and WWHO (CW) in Columbus, Ohio. From 1989 to 1991, Mr. Gealy was Vice President and General manager of WHOI (ABC) in Peoria, Illinois. Prior to that, he held various other positions including General Sales Manager, Local Sales Manager, National Sales Manager and Account Executive for various stations in Ohio. Mr. Gealy received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
