“The award recognizes a St. Jude Home Giveaway station that has led a remarkable campaign in their local community,” said Richard Shadyac, Jr., President and CEO of St. Jude Children’s Hospital. “Through tragedy, you triumphantly persevered. Your team’s enthusiasm resonated across the Las Vegas Valley and we are so grateful that you brought the St. Jude mission to life in Nevada.”

Mark Neerman, Regional News Director of Sinclair Broadcast Group, said, “This is a terrific honor and puts an exclamation point on our first year as a partner with the wonderful organization that is St. Jude. Once again our success comes from the commitment of each and every member of our staff. Our staff members live here; it’s important to us as an organization that we’re actively involved in the community we report on.”

Larry Strumwasser, KVCW General Manager, added, “It was an amazing experience to partner with an organization that provides hope and care to the children and families affected by childhood cancer.” He continued, “We couldn’t be more proud of how the people of Las Vegas heard the call and came together to support the important work of St. Jude.”

Last year, the donated home was in Northwest Las Vegas. This year, the goal is to raise $1 million for the house which is in Henderson, NV. All funds raised from the contest will go to St. Jude with the land, house, and renovation all being donated by St. Jude partners. The next home will be given away in October 2018. .
