SBG Names Glen Callanan General Manager of KGAN-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Cedar Rapids, IA (December 2, 2013) – Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: SBGI) announced that Glen Callanan has been named General Manager of KGAN-TV (CBS 2) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and will also oversee sales and other non-programming related services of KFXATV (FOX) in Cedar Rapids pursuant to an Outsourcing Agreement. The announcement was made by Steve Marks, Chief Operating Officer of Sinclair’s television group.

In making the announcement, Mr. Marks said, “We are excited to have Glen join the team in Cedar Rapids. We believe that his previous sales management, digital interactive sales experience and over 30 years of broadcast experience will be a valuable contribution to these stations.”

“I am excited to be leading the team at KGAN and KFXA,” commented Mr. Callanan. “I hope to work with the station employees to make our stations, news product and digital presence more relevant and important to the Cedar Rapids market.”

Mr. Callanan has over 30 years of sales and management experience. For the last 5 years, Mr. Callanan has been the Director of Interactive Sales/Retail Sales at WGN-TV in Chicago, IL and prior to that and from 2003 he was the General Sales Manager for KPLR-TV (CW) in St. Louis, MO. From 1999 to 2003, he was the National Sales Manager at WGN-TV . Prior to that, he held various other positions including National Sales Manager for WOFL-TV (FOX) in Orlando, FL, Manager and Account Executive at TeleRep and Account Executive at various other stations in St. Louis. Mr. Callanan graduated with a Bachelor of Journalism in Broadcasting and Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri.
