Sinclair’s Locally Produced Program is Nominated Alongside Professional Sports Leagues

HUNT VALLEY, Md., April 18, 2019 — Sinclair Broadcast Group (NASDAQ: SBGI) is pleased to announce its High School Division’s weekly “Dr. Pepper’s Friday Night Rivals” has been named a finalist for the 8th Annual Cynopsis Sports Media Awards in the “Best Sponsor Integration in a Program” category. Nominated alongside national and regional sports networks, Sinclair is the only locally-produced program to have been shortlisted for this prestigious honor. In addition, this is the only nominee whose success is due to the incredible, talented student athletes across the nation.

Sinclair’s “Friday Night Rivals” serves as a go-to source for fans across the country to watch local high school football games live. Last season, Sinclair aired 351 high school football games, providing viewers with more than 1,000 total hours of coverage. Additionally, in October 2018, Sinclair partnered with top video app, Fantag, to make instant video highlights and replays available to viewers, allowing fans to create personalized videos of the games on their phones.

The Cynopsis Sports Media Awards program is dedicated to celebrating the work of talented producers, hosts, sponsors and executives alike, and saluting the initiatives that drove audiences and turned sports viewers into fans over the past year.
