Sinclair Names Gary Mertins Vice President and General Manager of WCHS and WVAH in Charleston, West Virginia

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — July 27, 2026 — Sinclair today announced the appointment of Gary Mertins as Vice President and General Manager of WCHS (ABC) and WVAH in Charleston, West Virginia.
Mertins most recently served as General Sales Manager for Sinclair’s WTWC (NBC), WTLF (The CW), and WTLH (FOX) in Tallahassee, Florida. Prior to joining Sinclair in 2024, he spent more than two decades in radio leadership, including 10 years with Cumulus Media serving as Vice President and Market Manager across multiple Florida markets. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions with West Virginia Radio Corporation.
