Sinclair Names Mark Turner General Manager in Charleston/Huntington, West Virginia


CHARLESTON, W.Va., May 9, 2016 — Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: SBGI) announced that Mark Turner has been named General Manager for WCHS-TV (ABC) in the Charleston/Huntington, West Virginia market. Mr. Turner will also be responsible for oversight of WVAH-TV (FOX), which is programmed by Sinclair under a time brokerage agreement. The announcement was made by Steve Marks, Co-Chief Operating Officer of Sinclair’s television group.

In making the announcement, Mr. Marks said, “We welcome Mark, who has over 25 years of sales and management experience in the broadcast industry, to Charleston, West Virginia. As a previous General Manager in a top 25 market, Mark has extensive experience in leading and motivating teams to achieve meaningful results including increased revenues and market share.”

Mr. Turner most recently worked as a consultant for the Oxford Center in Atlanta, Georgia. From 2012 to 2015, he served as the Director of Sales for WGCL-TV (CBS) and Peach TV (IND) in Atlanta, Georgia. From 2002 to 2012, he was the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Millennium Sales and Marketing in New York, New York. Prior to that, Mr. Turner was the Vice President and General Manager for WCCB-TV (previously the FOX affiliate) in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mr. Turner has held other positions including VP / Director of Sales for 15 Katz TV Group offices, Vice President / General Manager at Devaney and Associates Ad Agency, and account executive at various North Carolina television stations. Mr. Turner received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
