BALTIMORE, MD, November 25, 2025 — Sinclair today announced that award-winning journalist Michaela Pereira has joined the company as Executive Producer of Amazing America, Sinclair’s digital content brand celebrating the history, heritage, and culture that makes our country unique.

A “handle for the heartland,” Amazing America showcases uplifting and inspiring stories of creativity and ingenuity that define the American spirit. The brand’s eclectic collective of curious explorers has built a dedicated following of over 250,000 fans across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok and generates millions of monthly impressions through their collaboration with local Sinclair stations.

A veteran journalist, Pereira is best known for her nearly decade-long role as anchor of KTLA Morning News, later anchoring CNN’s New Day, and then her own national show on HLN.

Pereira’s work has been recognized with numerous honors, including the Genii Award for Excellence in Broadcasting from the Alliance for Women in Media, the Hollywood Community Leadership Award from the Hollywood Police Activities League, and the Celebrity Philanthropist Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She is a proud member of the National Association of Black Journalists. Beyond her on-air success, Pereira has been deeply engaged in community service, supporting organizations that serve at-risk youth and families.
