Sinclair's Criminally Obsessed to Present “Maternal Mental Health: How the Lindsay Clancy Trial Could Change Treatment” National Town Hall to Air on September 9
09.08.2026
BALTIMORE – September 8, 2026 – Sinclair today announced a national town hall examining maternal mental health and the questions surrounding diagnosis, treatment and intervention that have been brought into focus by the Lindsay Clancy trial.
Maternal Mental Health: How the Lindsay Clancy Trial Could Change Treatment will stream September 9 across Sinclair’s television station websites nationwide. The town hall will also be available on the Criminally Obsessed YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/@CriminallyObsessed
The 30-minute town hall produced by Sinclair’s Criminally Obsessed, will be hosted by Anne Emerson, an Edward R. Murrow and Emmy Award-winning investigative journalist and host of the daily “Criminally Obsessed” podcast, and will feature Kathryn Myers, a survivor of postpartum psychosis, and Dr. Constance Guille, founder and director of the Women’s Reproductive Behavioral Health Division at the Medical University of South Carolina.
The trial of Lindsay Clancy, a Massachusetts mother charged in the deaths of her three young children, has drawn significant attention to postpartum mental illness and the challenges families and healthcare providers can face in recognizing and treating women experiencing severe psychiatric symptoms following childbirth.
Moving beyond the courtroom, the town hall will examine the urgent questions facing new and expecting mothers across America, the conversation will explore what these illnesses can really look like, when families should seek help, and why early intervention matters.
“The Lindsay Clancy trial hit a nerve because it forced us into a conversation that is much bigger than one woman or one courtroom. Women saw pieces of their own struggles in this case, and they started talking and we heard them loud and clear. As a mom, I won't stop talking about this,” said Emerson.
Myers will share her firsthand experience with postpartum psychosis, offering viewers insight into how the illness can manifest and the importance of recognizing symptoms and receiving appropriate care. Dr. Guille will provide expert perspective on reproductive psychiatry, warning signs, treatment options, early intervention and gaps that can leave mothers and families without the support they need.
The conversation will also provide practical information and resources for women and families navigating postpartum mental health challenges.
